A five-month investigation into private investigator Patrick Collis of Spartan Investigations, under the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, has concluded and is now entering the adjudication phase. VFAF is not accusing public figure Patrick Collis of any criminal activity; that determination was the responsibility of Agent Sandi Kurek of the DCJS.

A complaint was filed with the DCJS in December 2024 by Stan Fitzgerald, who alleged that Patrick Collis conspired with two others to commit perjury in what Fitzgerald describes as civil lawfare against him in Florida. Agent Sandi Kurek requested that 28 emails sent by Collis to Fitzgerald be forwarded to the Department of Criminal Justice. She also asked VFAF Legal Counsel Jared Craig to provide a text message from Collis in which he claimed he was threatened into creating a false affidavit. In a separate message, Collis stated that he took this action because Fitzgerald had money.

In 2024, the case was assigned number #2024-1001. On 5-5-25, Fitzgerald received the attached email from Supervisory Agent Timothy Haymore of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice, stating that the investigation has been closed and has moved into the adjudication process.
